Meet our Wallpaper Collection!

After starting our collection with a humble three linen bedding options, our range of natural homewares has expanded over the years to include over 50 bedding options across linen and cotton fabrications, an array of sleepwear in vibrant and classic hues, cosy home comforts like woollen blankets and hand-poured candles, and plenty of other homeware delights.

Having become known for our fresh take on heritage-inspired designs, archival prints and a wide array of colours, we are beyond thrilled to have unveiled our most exciting category to date: wallpaper! Working alongside The Design Library and Susanna Samson Design - two exclusive vintage print libraries – we have created a heritage-inspired collection of prints, made for contemporary spaces across playful and timeless hues.

Below you’ll find more on the origin of our latest collection, our top dos and don’ts when it comes to hanging wallpaper and answer any potential questions that might have popped up for you – let's roll.

What is your wallpaper made from?

Our wallpaper is made from uncoated non-woven paper, which results in a tactile and matte printed finish. Non-woven paper is more durable as it has better tear resistance (particularly when wet), has a thicker feel than paper and appears more textile-like in appearance. It’s also much easier to cut, and seam separation on the wall is a thing of the past. With our wallpapers, you paste the wall rather than the paper itself, so it’s much cleaner to install (and remove). They’re also scratch and abrasion resistant.

What inks are used?

Only HP water based, environmentally-kind inks are used across our collection of wallpapers. They contain latex pigments which are light-fade resistant, so will last much longer than prints produced with inks that contain dyes only.

The inks are free from any nasty chemicals but are still super durable and able to withstand wear and tear from the different sources of potential damage to which wallpapers may be exposed to. Jam-covered fingers from your little niece? We see you a mile off.

What designs do you have available?

We scoured through hundreds of archived patterns to source the perfect designs. Our Spring Sprig, Meadow Foral and Daisy Bouquet prints all derive from The Design library, and Cottage Floral, Field Rose and Camille Floral: Susanna Samson Design. Updating them for a contemporary setting, our vintage-inspired floral motifs will bring a sense warmth to your space.

Alongside florals, we’ve introduced our signature Piglet in Bed patterns: Gingham and Stripes. Bringing timelessness and endless charm, our iconic prints are here to bring joy to your home, across the vast colour palette of earthy tones, vibrant hues and playful shades.

Lastly, we have introduced a Kids collection of wallpaper. Our designs have all been hand-painted by our in-house design team, across super sweet motifs to transform kids’ bedrooms into whimsical spaces that grown-ups love too.

Do you have samples available?

Yes! All our designs are available in A4 swatches so you can get a sense of the designs before heading in feet first. Delivery is 2-3 weeks after ordering, and cost £2 per swatch. Our swatch orders can be placed on all wallpaper product pages.

How much should I order?

We have a handy wallpaper calculator that you can use to calculate how much wallpaper you will need. Simply enter in the wall width and height and we’ll let you know how many rolls to order. Please note: the calculator does not take into consideration any doors or windows, so be sure to triple-check before placing your order.

How to hang your wallpaper

Here are a few tips to ensure your wallpapering journey is as smooth as possible:

Preparation

  • Walls should be dry, clean and even
  • Remove any old wallpaper and loose paint
  • Roughen painted surfaces with sandpaper
  • For best results we recommend that walls are cross lined using a good quality lining paper – sizing the lining paper will aid adhesion
  • Lining should be allowed to dry out completely before hanging the wallcovering

Pasting and Hanging

  • This is a paste the wall product, so be sure to paste the wall and not the back of the wallcovering.
  • A good quality, solvent free, fungicide protected ready-mixed ‘tub’ adhesive should be used
  • Paste should be evenly applied to the wall to hang one length at a time, to an area slightly wider than width of the paper
  • Use a decorator's brush to smooth down the wallcovering, working from the centre to the edges to express air bubbles
  • Avoid squeezing paste out of the joints and ensure paste does not get onto the brush or roller
  • No paste should be meet the surface and hands should be kept clean and dry whilst hanging the wallcovering
  • Should any paste have encountered the surface, it should be lightly sponged whilst still moist, using a clean damp sponge

Dos and Don’ts for wallpaper

Dos:

  • Pick up a colour within your chosen wallpaper design and paint the woodwork within the room in a matching gloss to keep the look cohesive
  • Play around with wallpaper boarders (yes, they’re back!). Reminiscent of your childhood bedroom, wallpaper boarders are having a resurgence. They add another level of detail and unexpected accent
  • Wallpaper your ceiling! You could opt for wall-ceiling in the same print, or leave the walls and just have an accent ceiling to add a feeling of dreamlike-wonder to your bedroom

Don'ts:

  • Avoid a feature wall. They’ve had their moment. Instead, divide your walls across with dado rail and wallpaper one half or the other, with a complimenting paint colour
  • Don't be afraid to hang art or photo frames on your wallpaper – it adds visual interest and a personal touch
