The perfect morning in bed

We all deserve to enjoy a lie-in and to hit the snooze button. The idea of a lazy morning in bed with a good book and a yummy breakfast is our idea of the perfect weekend morning set up.

Sure, going out for brunch is great every now and then but there really is something special about getting cosy under the covers and enjoying some peace and quiet while getting stuck into a delicious breakfast. Here are our top tips for the perfect weekend morning in bed:

You need to be comfortable

You can't really enjoy a relaxing morning in bed without the perfect bedding to keep you cosy, no matter the weather. Our 100% linen bedding is designed to be breathable and allows heat to escape the body as the natural fibres absorb moisture to keep you nice and cool. If you were thinking of treating yourself to some new bedding this summer, this is the perfect excuse to enjoy it with ultimate weekend relaxing.

A good book or the paper

Having something good to read that you can just sit and enjoy can really add to your weekend morning in bed. You might prefer the paper or a gripping crime thriller but, if you have been in search of something new and wanted to dive into a new book, why not give our June book of the month ‘I Couldn’t Love You More’ by Esther Freud a try?

The ideal breakfast

Fresh pastries, eggs and toast or fresh fruit and yogurt are all perfect breakfast options that can be enjoyed in bed. And not forgetting the pot of tea or a nice hot coffee.

We fancied trying something new so wanted to share a Chia Pudding recipe for you to try, which is the perfect summer’s morning breakfast. Follow below for the recipe and how we like to make our new favourite breakfast.

Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup raspberries, mashed with a fork

1 Tbsp maple syrup or sweetener of choice

1 Tsp vanilla extract

3 Tbsp chia seeds

1 cup milk of choice (we used oat)

Method

Add the mashed raspberries, maple syrup, vanilla, chia seeds and milk to a bowl and mix until well combined.

Refrigerate for at leat 4 hours or ideally overnight

Remove from the fridge and top with your choice of toppings. We went for some homemade granola, fresh berries and a few cacao nibs. Some nut butter or a spoonful of yoghurt would also be really delicious!

So why not take the time this weekend to enjoy a slower morning with breakfast, your book and Piglet's 100% linen bedding?
